Operations Assistant (PT, SF Based)

The role

HelloBiome is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Operations Assistant to support our sample logistics and inventory workflows. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth coordination of packaging, supply management, and fulfillment activities. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys organizing, problem-solving, and contributing to a startup environment.

  • Part-time hourly position
  • Flexible weekday schedule (approx. 10–20 hours per week)
  • Work based in San Francisco, must come at least 2 to 3 times a week to HelloBiome office (Montgomery station)
  • Must be legal to work in the US

Position Requirements & Experience

  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable handling physical packaging and light inventory tasks
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with spreadsheets or inventory tools is a plus
  • Interest in biotech, operations, or consumer health is a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Package and prepare clinical and internal sample shipments
  • Track and manage inventory of supplies, kits, and materials
  • Support ordering and restocking of operational supplies
  • Assist in maintaining organized storage and workspace areas
  • Log incoming and outgoing samples
  • Support other operational projects as needed
