The role
Literature Research & Report Validation
We’re looking for a Microbiome Research Scientist to own literature research and report validation, end to end — from reviewing the published evidence on species linked to microbiome profiles through to a validated microbiome report.
Remote, flexible hours, under 30 hours per week, ongoing work.
Responsibilities
This role makes scientific review a standing function of the team, with one owner and a regular schedule. As new publications appear, the scientist recommends updates to HelloBiome models and databases.
- Research the literature on species linked to microbiome profiles and assess their impact on health.
- Review and validate microbiome reports for different body sites (skin, scalp, gut and others) as a scientific expert.
- Track new publications and recommend updates to our models and databases.
Qualifications
- Degree in Microbiology (PhD or PhD candidate preferred).
- Currently active in human microbiome research.
- Strong skills in reading and judging scientific papers, with a publication record.
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Skin or scalp microbiome experience.
- Python or R, and experience using AI tools for literature work.
